Understanding the 7 Chakras: A Guided Yoga Video Series to Balance Your Energy

In yoga philosophy, the chakras are seven key energy centers that run along the spine. They shape the way we experience both our inner and outer worlds. Each chakra influences different aspects of our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
When the chakras are balanced and open, energy moves freely through the body. This supports physical health, emotional stability, mental clarity, and a deeper sense of connection. When they are blocked or out of balance, we might feel stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed.
To help bring these energy centers into harmony, we created a seven-part Guided Yoga Video Series that explores each chakra from Root to Crown. In each section below, you will learn about the chakra’s qualities and see a trailer from the dedicated video sequence. Each class is designed to help you open and balance that chakra through yoga, breathwork, and mindful movement.
Here are The Seven Chakras:
🔴 1. Root Chakra (Muladhara)
Location: Base of the spine
Color: Red | Element: Earth
The Root Chakra grounds us, giving a sense of safety, stability, and connection to the physical world. When balanced, you feel secure and confident; when blocked, anxiety or fear may arise.
Why it matters: A strong foundation supports all other chakras. This class focuses on grounding postures and breathwork to cultivate inner stability.
🟠 2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)
Location: Lower abdomen, two inches below the navel
Color: Orange | Element: Water
This chakra governs creativity, pleasure, and emotional flow. A balanced Sacral Chakra allows joy and adaptability; imbalance can lead to emotional instability or creative blocks.
Why it matters: This chakra governs creativity and emotional flow. The class uses fluid movements and hip-opening postures to support ease, adaptability, and joy.
🟡 3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
Location: Upper abdomen
Color: Yellow | Element: Fire
Your personal power center. A balanced Solar Plexus Chakra enhances confidence, motivation, and inner strength; imbalance can manifest as low self-esteem or control issues.
Why it matters: This is the center of personal power and confidence. The class strengthens the core and builds heat to ignite motivation and inner strength.
💚 4. Heart Chakra (Anahata)
Location: Center of the chest
Color: Green | Element: Air
The bridge between body and spirit, the Heart Chakra is associated with love, compassion, and emotional healing. Blockages can lead to bitterness or jealousy; balance fosters empathy and peace.
Why it matters: The heart chakra connects the physical and spiritual layers of the practice. The class focuses on chest-opening movements and mindful breath to foster love, compassion, and emotional healing.
🩵 5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
Location: Throat
Color: Blue | Element: Ether
The Throat Chakra governs self-expression and communication. When balanced, you can speak your truth with clarity; when blocked, you may feel unheard or afraid to express yourself.
Why it matters: Clear communication and authentic expression begin here. The class includes gentle neck and shoulder work, along with breath-centered practices, to help you speak your truth with ease.
🔵 6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
Location: Forehead, between the eyebrows
Color: Indigo | Element: Light
Linked to intuition, insight, and clarity. A balanced Third Eye Chakra enhances perception and focus; imbalance can create confusion or lack of direction.
Why it matters: This chakra enhances intuition and inner clarity. The class uses slow, intentional movements and visualization to sharpen focus and deepen self-awareness.
🟣 7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
Location: Top of the head
Color: Violet or White | Element: Thought
The Crown Chakra connects us to higher consciousness and spiritual awareness. Blockages may lead to disconnection; balance brings unity and enlightenment.
Why it matters: The crown chakra represents spiritual connection and openness. The class emphasizes restorative postures and meditation to create space for reflection, unity, and a sense of peace.
